Hi there, I’m Lars
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent and an expatriate living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t part of the plan for the long haul. As with many moves by expats, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The first months were intense — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning by doing. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Bridge Studio Works
Most online information fell into either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical experience gained from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever a genuine change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a resource for tourism authorities
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Netherlands goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Lars
